While exploring along the water behind the cottage, Nathan found this HUGE pole that had washed up on shore. So begins our treasure pole...
Nathan and Joel (with help from Owen and Ivy) had to carry this pole up to our cottage and tie it to the side of the back porch. This pole then boasted all of the treasures Nate and the kids collected while exploring along the shore.
There were ropes and nets found and tied to the treasure pole.
Nathan and the kids found a couple of buoys and part of a lobster trap that were hung on our treasure pole. (Nathan had rigged the part of the lobster trap into looking like a miniature lobster trap. Ivy then put some lobster claws that she found on the shore inside our make-shift trap. So creative!)
This truly became a great stress relief for Nathan during our vacation.
In fact, I believe it became Nathan's pride and joy (to the point that we had to bring most of it all home with us and it now hangs in our garage which I hope to share with you at some point in the future).
BUT, it made Nathan happy and created many, many memories for our family!
