Our activity for the day was to bake (and, of course, EAT) cookies! What a FUN DAY! Too bad Daddy and Letty missed most of it - Daddy was working (someone has to!), and Letty was napping!
I must say I learned A LOT of things today!
I learned that when you tell Owen "to put this in" that you should have really said "dump the sugar in but keep a hold of the measuring cup." :-)
I learned that when a measuring cup full of sugar goes in to a running mixer that it will come shooting out of the mixer and across the room (and just missing hitting me in the head)! (Note to self: Turn the mixer off when kids add in the ingredients.) :)
I learned that Ivy does a GREAT job measuring out the ingredients to add to our dough. And, while Mommy is busy watching/helping Ivy (or taking a picture), Owen likes to lick the dough off of the scraper that was being used to scrape the sides of the bowl. (For all those recipients of our cookies...don't worry - I caught him in time to not use it any more - I THINK! :0) )
I learned that Owen really enjoys helping bake cookies and is a very good helper (just like his big sister)!
I learned that we can laugh at just about anything!
I learned that our kids really work well together and are such good little workers.
I learned that Owen's idea of rolling dough into a ball is to just play and smoosh it around in his hands until...
...it gets into the shape that he wants it to be. :-)
I learned that I LOVE this kiddo...

I learned that baking with 2 small kids is A LOT of fun as long as you are willing to laugh and have a good time when things don't go exactly as you plan. 
After our big baking day, we continued with our bedtime routine of working on our memory verse and reading a passage of Scripture to continue preparing our hearts for the REAL REASON for Christmas - Jesus' birth.
