We LOVE this time of year! Not only is it gorgeous outside with all of the trees showing off their bright red and yellow and orange leaves, but it's also Fryeburg Fair time! For the past few years, Nathan has been a judge in the baking contests for the Fair. He gets to try out some yummy (and some not-so-yummy) baked goods and judge them to determine whose is the best. In return, he gets a parking pass and tickets to attend the Fair! What a blessing!
This year was no different...Nathan was the judge for the Whoopie Pie (or as we call them in Pennsylvania...Gobs) Contest. He got to taste and judge a variety of unique whoopie pies, including regular chocolate ones, red velvet, peanut butter, banana, fruit varieties, and more, but I believe the winner was a coconut whoopie pie.
As a result, we got to enjoy and view the different livestock, exhibits, and shows all around the Fair. Always a highlight for the kids is getting to see the animals...
We love this time of year, too, because we always get to spend some time with and see our friends from southern New Hampshire. Ivy and Isabella always love going around together at the Fair.
This year, Ivy entered a scarecrow made out of recycled materials in the Fair. You can view our post about Recyc-a-Belle here. On this day, she got to see how she did on her scarecrow where she discovered that...
