project: organization

I'm sure you have all heard of the saying..."If mama isn't happy, there ain't nobody happy."

Sadly, this saying does ring true in our house (sometimes).

I am the person who LOVES, THRIVES on, and just plain NEEDS structure and organization in her life. Sadly, I quite often allow the busy-ness, messiness, and chaos in my life to overtake my thoughts and downright control my entire life which in turn affects my whole family (meaning there weren't nobody happy here!). With two little kids under the age of 4 running wild in the house, I have found that our lives are VERY BUSY and VERY CHAOTIC. AND, now with another baby on the way, I have found myself tired, strung-out, unable to form a complete thought in my head or say a complete sentence, and becoming a wreck. Besides, renewing my mind daily with God's Word, I needed organization.

I had this HUGE plan for organizing our toy room/office/craft room/whatever room so I requested only money for Christmas to enact my plan. Although my plans were way bigger than our limited budget, we did what we could to get organized and put some sanity into our lives...AND, the best part...it worked!

I wanted to put up cupboards, have a countertop, and then bookshelves/storage shelves under the counter that ran the length of our entire wall; however, we settled for a storage shelf in our closet that pretty much stores all of the kids' toys, crafty items, games, etc.

Project: Organization was definitely a team effort, and we had a great team! Nathan and Ivy are here working on installing the storage shelf in the closet...

Ivy was then busy sorting all of the crafty items...

Markers in one box...crayons in another...colored pencils in another...etc...

Owen, of course, had to provide the entertainment to the day...

Believe it or not, but I did help too; however, someone had to stand behind the camera to take the pictures of this monumentus occasion!

And now, our finished project....

Thank you, Dad and Mom, for giving so generously to make this project complete!

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. ~Romans 12:1-2
