Our dog's name, Paisan, is an Italian word meaning "good friend."
I think Paisan is living up to his name.

Do you have your special treats ready?
WE DO! (Are we sad Steeler fans that the only thing representing our Steeler team in this house is the terrible towel? The next best thing we had was a black and gold hat that Ivy got for Christmas, only the hat is for a race car, not the Steelers, and we don't even follow racing!) :0)
This guy wasn't exactly ready. He had other opinions about what we should be watching on TV. BUT, he soon warmed up to the idea once he saw the players tackling ("wrestling") each other.
He even pretended the green ball was a football and was throwing it around and running after it just like the players were doing in the game. So cute!
And, Owen started waving the towel! I'll get him to be a Steeler fan after all!
Some people didn't quite make it through the whole game!
Well, the game didn't start out too well for the Steelers!
BUT, they turned it around in the second half, and our towels got to wave again!
AND, they ended up winning in the end! Yeah!
We'll be looking forward to watching their next game next Sunday!
We thought that we would use the recipe from this book....
...and make gingerbread men, BUT we didn't have a couple of the ingredients to make them.
SO, instead, we made...
a mess, I mean, SUGAR COOKIES!!!!!
(or, as Daddy would call some of them, "double sugar sugar cookies!")
Letty was our supervisor again!
Since I wasn't allowing Owen to lick any of the batter yet, he decided to lick his foot instead! :-)
Once Daddy got home from work, he took Ivy and Owen out for a ride on the sleds,
while I HAD to stay in with Letty. :0)
Then, later, we made the icing for the cookies and decorated them!

HAPPY SNOW DAY!
Today, Ivy got in trouble (yes, she DOES get in trouble sometimes!). She wanted to do something, and Mommy told her not to do it, but she did it anyways! (sound familiar?) Well, Ivy received her punishment. Once she fulfilled her punishment, I, as we always do, talked to her about why she was punished and what she should do next time to correct her action then we hugged and kissed and I affirmed that I love her. After we finished all of that, Ivy remarked to me, "Mommy, I know what I did was bad, but I already prayed to God to ask Him to forgive me for not obeying my Mommy!"
Whoa! That blew me away! Praise God that our little girl has such a heart for the Lord and a sensitivity to do what is right!
AND, praise the Lord for sending this little bit of encouragement to me to let us know that we are parenting in the right direction (if but for this little moment, that is). The Lord knew I especially needed that encouragement and that I needed to be challenged in my own walk with the Lord...Am I listening to what my Heavenly Father is telling me to do or not to do? Am I recognizing when I do bad and disobey my Heavenly Father? Do I ask my Lord to forgive me each time I disobey Him?
