Happy Valentine's Day!

We celebrated this occasion by surprising Daddy with a special treat of chocolate pudding with mini chocolate chips in it!

We also enjoyed all of the special cards and packages from our families. Thank you! We love you!

gingerbread

For many weeks now, we had been trying to borrow one of our all-time favorite books from our local library, but every time we would go to the library, the book would not be in. Finally, we were able to put our hands on the book and bring it home with us.


For many weeks now as well, I had been promising the kids to make gingerbread men cookies once we borrowed our favorite book from the library. Now that we finally secured the book, it was time to get baking...

The time spent with the kids and the resulting yummy cookies were well worth the wait!

snow tunnel

The snow outside has not been good for making too many snowmen this year. It has, however, been piling up to be able to make a snow tunnel so Daddy decided to start digging one out. Daddy made many snow tunnels in his younger years, but this is the first one that Mommy could ever remember making one in her lifetime.

Welcome to our new outside hangout!


Owen loved crawling through the tunnel...

...and just hanging out in it!

Owen even took it upon himself to make the walls stronger in the tunnel.

Really, Owen just LOVES to eat the snow! And, YES, Owen really is eating the wall of the tunnel. :0)

On the other hand, Ivy enjoyed being on the outside of the tunnel supervising until it was big enough for her to comfortably fit through it. (I don't think she liked getting snow down her back while crawling through it either.)

Great idea, Daddy! The snow tunnel was a lot of fun for all!

super bowl

Our team made it to the Super Bowl! Yeah, Steelers! So that we would be able to act goofy and ridiculously cheer on our team and make family memories, we decided to remain at home, get the kids bathed and ready for bed before the game started, and stay up for as long as we could to cheer on the Pittsburgh Steelers. (Well, at least some of us were cheering on the Steelers.)

Earlier in the day, Ivy, Owen, and Mommy made our own sign to cheer on our team and hung it on our door...


Meanwhile, Daddy started to antagonize Ivy by cheering for the other team (the Green Bay Packers). He even went as far as wearing green during the game and dressing Owen in green, too!



Daddy even made a bet with Ivy and Mommy - if Green Bay is winning at halftime, Daddy and Owen would get ALL of the long-awaited heart treats.


Later, the kids got their baths, got into their pajamas, and made it down the steps just in time for the National Anthem and then the game began.

In reality, Owen and Letty could have cared less to watch the game. In fact, Owen seemed to be more interested in some of the commercials rather than the game.



But, who can blame them? The Steelers didn't give us much to cheer about in the first half...



Ivy even became the entertainment after a while...



Family time and Ivy's entertainment together with some really yummy food...


...did, however, make for a fun-filled night.


We even managed to swing our Terrible Towel a couple of times...


...but in the end the Cheeseheads got the best of the Steelers.


Too bad our fun was a little too much for some people to handle...
